Q. What is this?
A: Children: Rekindled is a Five Nights at Freddy's webcomic that's been officially running since 2019. The comic focuses on the missing children and their efforts to try and take revenge on their murderer. It is a remake of the original Children comic, which started in 2016 and was cancelled due to pacing and plot issues.
Q. Why are some of the events in the comic different from canon FNaF?
A: Children: Rekindled does not follow the canon FNaF lore! It is a comic based on what the fandom's perception of the basic story was in late 2015, and includes elements such as original characters taking the roles of the missing children (as they were still unnamed and had no official designs back then), FNaF 4 taking place in 1987 and neither the Afton family nor the Emily family existing.
Q. Why is it different from canon FNaF?
A: Because not being restricted by what is in canon FNaF allows us to tell a completely original story without needing to follow a specific set of events or rules. Remember, the comic is based on an interpretation of the lore from the early days of the series! This also means it only encompasses FNaF 1 through 4, with Sister Location, Pizzeria Simulator and all subsequent games not being accounted for... at least not in the main comic..!
Q. The comic began in 2019, and by then we already had names for the missing children. Why not use those instead?
A: There is nothing wrong with the canon MCI, but they did not fit in with the vibe we were going for. Besides, Children: Rekindled is a remake of the first Children comic from 2016, which was made before we had official names and designs, so the original characters were kept for this one.
Q. Phone Guy is named Ralph, though! And Purple Guy is still called William! What is this double standard?!
A: A few exceptions are made throughout the comic as both a small way to acknowledge canon and because certain characters having their canon names bears no influence on the original story being told.
Q. How many chapters do you think there will be in total?
A: No idea, and I can't really give an estimate. The best answer I have is, there will be as many chapters as it takes to finish telling the story.
Q. How will I be able to know when there are new chapter updates?
